CLASS Public Statement Regarding COVID-19
CLASS continues to monitor the impact of COVID-19, and follow the guidance from the CDC, World Health Organization, and local health authorities to keep all CLASS individuals, families, and staff safe. At the same time, CLASS realizes the importance of the services it provides to people with disabilities and their families.
Following the CDC’s recommendations and guidelines, CLASS is closing the day program beginning March 17, 2020 until further notice. CLASS will continue to update the individuals and families affected by this closure. At this time, all other programs will continue as scheduled. CLASS is also limiting the number of staff at its headquarters. If you had a meeting scheduled at CLASS headquarters, we are encouraging you to contact the meeting’s organizer, as many groups have cancelled.
CLASS will continue to monitor this situation and will continue to contact individuals who will be impacted by future programming changes, as well as post updates on the CLASS website and social media channels. Those with questions are encouraged to contact their appropriate program director or Shannon McCarty at 412.683.7100 extension 2158. You can find additional information about COVID-19 on the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html.
