I always welcome the opportunity to celebrate and thank people for a job well-done. Last week, Governor Tom Wolf declared the September 11-17, 2022 as Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. In honor of this declaration, we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the many Direct Support Professionals whose role is essential to CLASS and the people we serve.
This is a great opportunity to highlight a valuable group of individuals who have dedicated their lives to supporting people with disabilities, older adults, and their families. Being a direct care worker for many years, I am especially appreciative of my past experience as it has made me the professional I am today. While we certainly do not say it enough, know how much you are appreciated and valued for the hard work you do to help maintain the health, safety, and well-being of the people we support.
This work is not easy. We thank you for the sacrifices you make with your own families, so that you can support others. CLASS would not exist and our communities would not be the same without each and every one of you – we are grateful to have you as a part of our CLASS family. Your unwavering dedication and compassion are both admirable and unparalleled.
I know we may not say it enough, but thank you to all of our DSPs. You are true ambassadors of CLASS – it is an honor to celebrate you and recognize your ongoing support and dedication to the people we serve.
